What Is It?

D3PlayerPicker allows you to configure one or more racing "personalities" that use different player folders, sierra ID's, series, car files, and other things that could be considered specific to a racing event or league. It also automatically changes series-specific sounds for you. The program even launches the sim for you, and can be minimized to the system tray.

Why Does It Exist?

The original aim was to avoid the need to click around in the sim to select the right car file, specify the desired Sierra ID, and series mod. In fact, with the release of the NR2K3 patch, we were suddenly given the ability to have 3rd-party series mods and this fact alone convinced me that the time was right to create D3PlayerPicker.

Anyone who runs a league (or has run in a league) knows how inconvenient and messy it can be when someone logs on with the wrong car file, or what a pain it is when you log into the lobby only to realize you forgot to select the correct series. D3PlayerPicker lets you do ALL of this without having to go into the sim, thus saving gobs of time.

What Does It Cost?

Like DeMONS (server manager software for NR2K3), D3PlayerPicker is (and always will be) free software as long as I own the rights to the software.

How Does It Work?
  • Player Picker - This program allows you to configure personalities and launch the sim.
  • Scrubber - This program is used only by server admins running on Windows 95/98/ME machines. The reason it's needed is because the Windows versions listed above do NOT read the NR2K3 track INI files using normal Windows API calls (the problem does not exist on Win2K or WinXP).
